More information can be found here: http://www.iras.gov.sg/irasHome/page04.aspx?id=10200 If you have no existing properties in Singapore, you will only be liable to pay Buyer's Stamp Duty of 3% for your purchase. Additional fees could include the legal fees and service fees for agent. You are right that you will need to dispose your private and overseas residential property within 6 months period of taking possession of your HDB should you decide to purchase a resale HDB.
