I'm holding Singapore PR currently & applying Singapore citizenship. Currently we owned a private house in Malaysia registered under the name of my parent, my siblings and myself. I wanna ask if i going buy a BTO after i got my Singapore citizenship, do i need to cancel my share for the house in Malaysia? And do i need to wait for 30 months before i can apply for BTO?

Good morning Yew Fa,

Yes you have to dispose off your interest in overseas private property first and observe 30 months waiting period before you can apply for BTO.

If you are not willing to wait, probably can consider resale HDB or private condos/ apartments. Do take note that you have to dispose off your interest in overseas private property within 6 months from completion date.

Hope my explanation is beneficial to you.

If you need any assistance or advice in your property purchase, feel free to contact me. Cheers!
