Yes. You can keep you resale and buy a private and stay in the private subjected to HDB approval. However, you would need to note that as it is your second property, you are subjected to 7% ABSD. If you have outstanding mortgage on your 1st property, banks are only willing to loan you up to 50% of the valuation of the second property.
