Dear Ryan,
Yes, you may purchase a MOPed 5years EC under your own name. Do take note of the ABSD involved for PR purchase of 1st and subsequent residential properties in Singapore. If you wish to include your spouse's name as a co-owner, you can only consider ECs that are already 10 years or older as they would have been considered fully privatised. Do also take note that the ABSD can be on a higher tier too with joint ownership.

Yes it is possible but you can only purchase the unit under your own name ie you can only use your income to support the loan for the purchase. This is because for EC under 10 years after MOP, foreigners are not supposed to buy. EC continue to be value purchase as their price are lower as compared to private condos.
