Hi Xavier,

It could be a bit early now, and will suggest around 3 to 4 months before (around November 2024) to do some planning groundwork so we know our best option and approach. Are you planning to get private property? Or to get a bigger resale HDB.

Hi Xavier,

You can only Register Intent to Sell after you have fulfilled your MOP of your current flat. And you can only issue the OTP 7 days after registering your Intent to Sell.

As for your purchase, it depends on the type of home you're looking to buy. If you're looking to purchase another HDB flat, you can only apply for a HFE after you have met the MOP of your current flat. The application will take about 1-2 months to be approved. Only then you can commit to the flat purchase. If you're looking to purchase a private property, then there's no need to apply for a HFE.

Hence, if you need the sale proceeds from your current flat to pay for your next purchase, you can probably start marketing your flat after CNY 2025 if you're buying another HDB flat, or in December 2024 if your intentions is to purchase a private property.

Not too sure why are you looking to sell ASAP. Prior to MOP, you will not be able to register your intent to sell, where you will still need to wait for a period of 7 days before you are allowed to enter into Option To Purchase when there is an offer for your unit which you can accept. Barring special circumstances, the marketing period of a property usually takes under 2 months if planned correctly, thus it will be good to start your househunting process approximately 1-2 months before your MOP such that you will be aware of what your options out there are prior to making a decision.
