Morning Cindy,

After an EC MOP (5 years are up) or privatised after 10 years, it will be considered as semi or fully privatised private property. Thus you cant hold on an EC and purchase a resale HDB at the same time.

You can purchase a resale HDB flat and must dispose off any interest in EC and other private properties (be it singapore or overseas) within 6 months from completion.

If you intend to hold on to two properties, you might choose to purchase a HDB first followed by a resale EC.

Afternoon Cindy,

EC that have fulfilled MOP of 5 years are considered as private property. Hence when you opt to purchase HDB unit, you have to remove your ownership status from the EC within 6 months from key collection.
