if I am a foreigner, and my dad is a singaporean PR (Age 60), can we buy a condo together so that I dont have to pay foreigner stamp duty? need my name as we are concern we cannot get a bank loan to finance the flat.

Unfortunately, the higher of the stamp duty rate applies.

Hi there, yes there is a way to reduce the ABSD with both yur name and your fathers. however, there are specific condition to be met before this can take place. kindly drop me a call or e mail for a more detail discussion on how you can reduce the absd before you commenced on your search.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

I am afraid that the higher stamp duty of 15% will apply when you purchase the property. There is no way to get around this rule.

May I know which country are you from as some countries are exempted from the Additional Buyer Stamp Duty.

both of you still need to pay ABSD. i think you just got to pay and move on. if not, you will not get a property in Singapore in the near future.

Government of Singapore will not relax the rule even the economy is not doing well into 2017/18.
