Hi,

For typical resale HDB process, buyer agent will collect commission from the buyers, and seller agents will collect from sellers. Typically on the buyer side, it is 1% of price + GST. Your savings from final price will definitely offset the fees involved. Direct buyers tend to overpay, especially when you found an ideal unit and emotions might cloud your better judgment. Generally, agent charge 1% commission for hdb purchase.

For HDB resale, its the buyer who has to pay the commission to buyers agent. Only in private property the sellers agent will share the commission with buyers agent.
