I own a HDB with my sibling. I got married and my husband owns a private property.
Can my husband buys a HDB with me as occupier? He will sell his property if he can purchase HDB with me as occupier, since I already own a HDB.

Hi,

each person can only hold 1 hdb, as you own a hdb along with your brother ,it might not be possible to purchase the hdb with your husband until you transfer your share of the HDB to your sibling if possible.

Good morning,

Can your sibling owns the HDB alone? in terms of eligibility and financial capability to take over your CPF used and loan if any.

And if both of you and husband are eligible to buy a HDB, he has to dispose off his private property first and observe 15 months waiting period before both of you can purchase a resale HDB.

Unless both of you are 55 years old and above, you can buy a resale HDB up to 4rm flat immediate after disposal of private property.

Hi,

He has to sell the private property, wait out 15 months, before he can be eligible to purchase resale HDB with you. If your name is added as occupier, you have to remove your name from the existing HDB and your sibling has to take over your share assuming he/she is 35 years and above.

Hi,

1) There are 2 obstacles to buying an HDB flat with your spouse:
(a) Observe a 15-month wait-out period after he sold his private property.
(b) transfer your ownership to your sibling within 6 months after the purchase, you may do so earlier.

2) Your name cannot be in 2 HDB flats as an owner or occupier.
3) Your name must be in the same HDB flat as your spouse.
4) You or your spouse can apply for the HFE after observing the 15-month wait-out period.
5) You can decide on the way of holding the property' joint-tenancy, Tenancy-In-Common, or sole ownership during the HFE application.

No, each married couple can only own 1 HDB between them, therefore if you have owned a HDB with your sibling, you will also need to relinquish your ownership in that HDB, your husband will need to sell off the private property and observe the necessary window period before purchasing a resale HDB.
