I moved overseas for a job and as I really like the lifestyle here, have obtained a PR with a view to migrate permanently.

I am currently renting out my flat in Singapore with special permission from HDB on an annual basis as the MOP has not been fulfilled.

Now I have a dilemma. I want to buy a place instead of renting in my new adopted country, but HDB MOP regulations don't allow for it. If I don't intend to go back to SG anymore, how can I ever fulfil my MOP? Does it mean I'll be stuck with the flat in SG and rental in new country forever?

Any expert agent with genuine good advice, I'll hand the sale to you.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Platoon6Alpha,

It depends on how long you have been staying in your current HDB flat. Even though you have not fulfilled the MOP, you can try appealing to HDB with the necessary documents. They might approve on a case by case basis.

Do take note that with effect from 12 January 2013, PRs will not be eligible to sublet the whole unit.

Do feel free to contact me for a more detailed discussion.

Thank you.
