Hi Ng,
There are usually 2 scenarios when a salesperson is willing to compromise on his/her commission especially so when it is their livelihood.
1) Salesperson are earning well and doing some very big projects where your deal is not as significant and will not be prioritising your unit very likely.
2) This salesperson does not know how to protect his/her own interest therefore it is unlikely that he/she will be able to protect the client's interest.
There is no doubt that commission is negotiable based on current regulations. For me and my team, we are usually working on commission tier basis to suit both parties. If you are agreeable with such system, perhaps we can meet up in person to discuss how we can work out this tier system. In addition, I can also share with you a checklist my team has specially designed to try enhance the valuation for our clients, based on our past experiences in the real estate industry.
Call me if you are keen.
