Morning faith,

You can purchase a resale HDB flat but you must dispose off your private property within 6 months after resale completion.

But if you choose to purchase a BTO, you must first dispose off your private property and you must observe a 30 months waiting period before you can apply for a BTO and wait for another 3 years for it to be constructed.

As private property owner, you are required to remove your ownership status from the unit within 6 months from key collection for your HDB resale unit. Beside this, you are to fulfill the eligibility status for purchase.
