I have just sold off my private property and am wanting to downgrade to a HDB 4 room direct from the gov, do I have to wait 30 months or can I apply for it now and by the time the flat is ready, it would have meet the required 30 months, if I buy a resale flat, do i need to wait in 5yrs before i can buy direct with hdb

Evening Goh,

As you just sold off your private property, you are only eligible to purchase HDB unit after 30 months. If you were to purchase resale unit, you can only apply for new BTO after fulfilling 5 years MOP.

Hi tk Goh,

Seems like you have a good knowledge of HDB regulations. Yes you are right, you have to wait 30 mths before you can apply for new BTO right now. If you purchase a resale anytime soon, you have to fulfill the 5 years MOP before application for new BTO.
