I had apply for HFE with my partner but I haven't had buy a house before but when I want to try again it stated I have house mortgage and can't get thru for fresh hfe letter I haven't buy house before

It sounds like the system is picking up a past or existing record in HDB’s database, which happens quite often if there was a previous HFE attempt, a draft application, or even an old loan assessment tied to your NRIC.

A few things you can check:
1. Log in to MyHDB → My Flat → My Housing Records
See if there’s any past application, pending loan, or co-application under your name that you might have forgotten about. Sometimes even trying an HFE with an ex-partner can leave a record.
2. Check with your current partner
If your partner previously tried an application and added you as an occupier or co-applicant, the system may read that as an “existing mortgage”.
3. If everything looks clean, contact HDB directly
Call HDB or submit an enquiry via e-Services. Ask them to clarify what “existing mortgage” the system is detecting. They can reset or remove an incorrect record.
4. You can still reapply once the backend issue is cleared
Once HDB fixes it, you should be able to submit a fresh HFE normally.

Hi,

1) An HFE took 9 months to expire.
2) You will not be able to apply again before the former HFE expire.
3) The error message might be wrong since you didn't bought any property.
4) You have to approach the HDB to cancel the existing HFE if it has not expired.
5) If the HFE already expired, you are to inform the HDB that there is an error in your HDB record.
