Hi,

Typically, HDB will require you to add your future spouse as an occupier after both of you all are married. It may be better for your partner to purchase the private property now. Perhaps I could have more info so to be able to advise further?

HDB would normally require an owner to his spouse as an occupier. In that case, your future spouse might have to served the MOP period too and can only purchase a private property after the MOP period ends. To avoid such complication, your spouse should purchase a private property as generally, HDB allows an individual to retain the private property they possess before marriage.
