I dream of upgrading from a 5 room flat to a 3 bedroom condominium before I turn 55 next year. As what I was told by my previous agent, I need to setback $100k accrued interest back into my OA. The question is, can I make use of the $100k for my next property purchase plus some amount from my OA? Thank you

Hi,

If you are doing the upgrade and purchase before you turn 55, you can use the current OA amounts in your CPF fully for the purchase price. Otherwise, when you turn 55 years, the CPF OA and SA will be combined to form your RA, which means part of it will be set aside to meet your Retirement Sum requirement.

In the event that you purchase the condo before you reach the age of 55, you are eligible to utilize all the fund from CPF OA to finance the unit, provided that the unit have a balance lease of more than 60 years.
