Good morning! If you are referring to BTO, you have to sell off your private property first then observe a waiting period of 30 months before you can apply for one. While if you are referring to resale HDB. If you choose to buy resale HDB first then sell private property within 6 months from completion date, ABSD will be payable. But it will be reimbursed back to you (the resale HDB purchase must be the only residential property you own) if its a married couple who purchase it and one of them is a SC (IRAS will treat it as your matrimonial home. If you choose to sell off your private property first with a signed OTP when you purchase a resale HDB flat, you won't be subject to ABSD. Hope it helps! It might sound confusing.
