Asked by
I currently own a resale HDB unit for about 2 years. If lets say along the way there is a BTO that I am interested in, am I able to apply for it? Taking into consideration that HDB usually takes 4-5 years to complete, by then I would have met the MOP for my current flat.
I have bought this resale flat under Single scheme without grant.
I am a SC, and my wife a foreigner is in the midst of waiting for her PR approval.
So I understand that we can only apply for the BTO only after she gets her PR. Other than this will there be anything else that we need to take note? Thank you in advance!

Hi there,

You can only submit the BTO application after fulfilling the Minimum Occupation Period of 5 years. Yes if she don't have her PR, you can only apply for 2-room BTO, or buy resale.

Feel free to contact me for further discussion.

Hi Sir,

I regret to inform you that you will not be eligible to apply for a BTO flat until you have met your 5-year MOP for your current flat.

This is regardless of whether you take any Grants, or if you had fully paid for the flat. As long as you purchase a HDB flat, 5-year MOP applies.

You may be eligible to apply for a BTO after you have met your MOP, provided you meet all the other eligibility conditions, i.e income ceiling, family nucleus etc.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi,

1) You may only submit for a BTO application upon meeting your MOP.

2) Under the current situation, your BTO choice will be limited to 2-rm flats in an outer urban area.

3) Once your wife received her PR, and you meet your MOP, you will be able to apply for any flat type under the public scheme.

4) For your case, you are considered a 1st timer. You may apply for EHG (Enhanced Housing Grant), a maximum of up to $80k dependent on household income. However, there are certain conditions that you have to satisfy:
(a) Your average household income not exceeding $9k.
(b) Have work continuously for 12 mths prior to the flat application, and still be working at the time of application submission.

5) If you are using an HDB loan now and planned to use an HDB loan again. You will have to take note that 50% of the cash proceed will be used to offset the LTV (Loan-To-Value) of the purchase.

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.
