I bought my first resale flat years ago and now looking to get a new bto/ec from hdb , I would like to know I’m I consider 1st or 2nd timer , as I have only taken proximity grant on my first purchase.

If during the point of purchase you are only taking PHG grant and not other grant such as family grant and EHG grant, you may still be considered as a first timer. PHG grant does not count towards a subsidized flat. For confirmation, you may want to check with HDB on this through their hotline. I am specialised in HDB transactions. Once you have taken a proximity grant, you would be considered as a 2nd timer. Buying a BTO or new EC, as a 2nd timer, you will need to pay a resale levy.

Hi,

1) No matter the proximity grant you took was the old type or the revised amount type.
2) Once you had taken benefits from the govt when buying an HDB flat. It means you had enjoyed a 1st-timer privilege.
3) So now you are considering a 2nd timer when you applying to buy a new EC/BTO.
4) However, the good thing is you only lost the higher priority in buying but not losing in terms of monetary value.
