Dear Sir/Mdm,

It may not be wise to exit your investment now as you will incur a Seller's Stamp Duty of 12%. If you had bought it at a fire sale price, you may want to hold it as an investment property first and dispose it when SSD is no longer applicable since the overall market sentiments are currently positive.

Hi,

Sure you can sell your property away if you had made a profit on it. There is no restriction for selling private properties.

However, do take note that you will incur Seller Stamp Duty (SSD) should you sell off your property within the first 3 years of holding. Its is tiered in this way: 1st year 12%, 2nd year 8%, 3rd year 4%.

Having said that, if your paper profits now exceeds more than 18%, you may wish to consider selling it. This is to cater for the BSD that you had paid, the SSD that you will be paying, and the marketing costs and commission you will incur for selling your unit.
