I am working in Singapore on Employment Pass. I am planning to buy a home for my staying purpose. I have around S$100K cash. Based on my cash level and eligibility, upto what budget can I buy home and what type of home can I buy?

Hi Srreni,

I will require your gross annual income and age before I can give u a good estimation of your affordability.

Having said that, based on your current cash level, you may find it difficult to purchase a private property in Singapore. Additional buyer stamp duty of10% and normal stamp duties of 3% will easily wipe out your 100k should you purchase a one worth $800,000.

Thus, you will need to save up at least another 160,000 before you can afford a home of $800,000.
