I am thinking of buying the yuan ching road ec when it launches. However, I dont understand why the developers bid it at a record price, as it appears really far away from the MRT. Even if the jurong lake is gonna be developed, is it worth paying so much for an EC? Also, there are many condos at lakeside and there will be direct competition if i want to sell off this EC next time. The Jurong Regional line doesnt seem to pass through yuan ching road in future as well. im lost as to choosing this ec or a good location hdb!

Hi Ian, Go according to your needs and priority if price is not a concern in these options for your family as it is likely to also affect your future buyer in the same manner. We, as a consumer can only be at the mercy of the developers who bids the land at the price accordingly to their financial plans, unless we have the means in bidding the land ourselves and carry out the development. Worthy or not to pay so much for an EC is definitely a subjective matter for individuals. As the EC matures for resale, the whole market conditions would probably have changed and if you are speaking about competition of condos around lakeside selling against yours, do bear in mind that there are also plenty of HDBs for sale should your choice be the latter.
