We, as a consumer can only be at the mercy of the developers who bids the land at the price accordingly to their financial plans, unless we have the means in bidding the land ourselves and carry out the development. Worthy or not to pay so much for an EC is definitely a subjective matter for individuals. As the EC matures for resale, the whole market conditions would probably have changed and if you are speaking about competition of condos around lakeside selling against yours, do bear in mind that there are also plenty of HDBs for sale should your choice be the latter.
