I am the owner to 5 room pm unit and decided to downgrade to 4 room hdb flat by this year. The problem is some of the floor tile started to hollow. The question is if the 2nd owner take over the unit did they have to pay if the floor tile started to popping-up. The floor is originally done by hdb.

Afternoon Rahman,

Once you buyer took over the unit, your buyer might want to redo the entire unit's renovation. The floor tiles for new BTO unit are covered by HDB within the MOP period, if ,y memories does not fail me.

Hi Rahman,

Taken note of this issue, prior to the completion of the property sale, HDB officer will conduct an inspection of the unit for illegal renovations done.Buyer will alone required to conduct an inspection of the unit to ensure that all inventory items that are included in the transaction are not removed and that conditions of unit are acceptable as per point of offering to purchase. As far as I am aware of, upon completion of the resale process, seller is not liable for any warranty period after completion therefore as long as buyer accepts the conditions as it is, you will be alright. My advise is to allow the buyer be aware of the issue and take it on from there. The salesperson you have engaged should be skillful enough to convince potential buyers who are keen in your unit to accept the condition as it is.

I have sold units in condition worst than what you have mentioned. So long as you are honest with the buyer there should not be any issues after selling the unit. Read More
