Good morning Sir/ Mdm,

Are you referring to resale EC instead of resale HDB?

If you are a Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident, you are eligible to purchase a resale EC alone after 5 years MOP has been fulfilled.

If you are referring to resale HDB, I am afraid you have to purchase with your spouse to be eligible to do so.

I presume you are referring to resale EC. If so, yes you can purchase once the resale EC reaches 5 year MOP if you are a Singaporean or SPR. Do note ABSD applies if this is your 2nd property purchase.

I would like to compliment Mr Ivan Ng for his professional work and effort.I sent my first post in Jan 2019 and Ivan replied promptly, so I have decided to contact Ivan for follow up. My EC was not ready for sale due to MOP (another 3 months from Jan) at that time and Ivan was able to give me advices on how to proceed from there. Initially we have decided to try to write to HDB for early sale but since it was only 3 months left, eventually we waited for another 3 months while we looked for our next property. Ivan was able to arrange for new property showroom appointment at a timely manner while helping us to list for our EC for sale. We were a bit worried when our EC sale time was longer than expected due to trade war, but Ivan was able to reassure us that our EC would sell. By November, he managed to secure a buyer for our EC. Hi,

1) From descriptions, it seems like you are referring to resale EC because you mentioned privatized.
2) You may purchase under single ownership once it had passed its' 5 yrs MOP as long as you are an SC or SPR.
3) The privatization is on the whole development regardless of when you purchase your unit. Meaning it is considered privatized when it reaches 10 yrs from the date of TOP.
4) The only difference is you may sell it to a foreigner once it reached the stage of privatization.

If you are referring to resale EC, yes you may purchase under sole name after it meets it's 5 years MOP provided you are a Singaporean or PR. This is despite you being married.
