Asked by
I am Male,35, SPR and wife also SPR aged >35.

Currently we jointly own 4R resale HDB since Jan 2010.

We are in the middle of Divorce financial negotiation and i want to transfer HDB property in my name (Please note am SPR) , is that allowed legally?

I am happy to pay the 50% money to my wife to transfer ownership if this is allowed legally.

Please guide since this is on the critical path for proceeding further.

Many thanks and regards,

Good afternoon SPR,

Do take note that currently there is no single SPR scheme to solely own a HDB thus you are not eligible to take over her 50% ownership of the
HDB.

Your alternative is to purchase and own a private property as a single SPR.

Hope my explanation helps!

If you need further assistance or advice in your property needs, feel free to contact me.

Have a great and enjoyable holidays ahead!

Afternoon,

Single SPR are not eligible to own HDB unit under any of the existing housing scheme available. With the divorce, you will be required to sell it in the resale market and the split will be based on what have being indicated in the court order.

Do contact me further should you require my assistance.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your plight but the only option for both of you will be to sell off the HDB unit and split the share. The 50% money to be transferred to your wife as mentioned by you is only possible if she is a Singaporesn. Pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

Yeah all our fellow agent had confirmed you have to sell, but if you are able to re-marry in time to a SC spouse, it is possible to transfer ownership to that spouse. All the best, bro. Read More
