I am living in 3-room hdb flat and looking to buy my neightbour 's 3-room hdb flat. And looking to take out bank loan for new purchase. How does the loan work?
Resale value of current 3-room flat: $400k.
Outstanding Loan: 180k
Do I take out loan based on 800k or 580k?

A very good day to you.

Firstly, if u currently own the 3 room HDB flat, you will need to sell away ur current flat. Thereafter, u will need to find out what will be your cash returns and your cpf returns after paying off the loan outstanding and the cpf monies that you need to return back to CPF. With these figures, it will be easier for you to plan for your next purchase.

Subsequently, if you are taking a bank loan, you will need to find out your loan eligibility. I can assist you to liase with my bankers.

Also I can assist to check if you are eligible for any grants for your next purchase.

However, it is important to check and ensure that the loan eligibility is not an issue before proceeding with the purchase.
