What is the objective of buying Bishan Park in the first place? If you are moving into the unit and simply love the place for its environment and other factors, I do not see any reasons why you should not buy. Considering the age of property could be a concern for some buyers who has the intention to sell after certain period of time, but not for all. Consider your priorities for buying and not your friends.
