I am currently staying in a condo (1st property). Would like to consider moving to a resale HDB. But am told need to sell the condo first or within 6 months. I am thinking of the latter, buy a resale and sell condo within 6 months, but would like to know the risk, e.g what is the chances I will be able to sell within 6 months, what is the chances I will need to let go of the condo below market price, and what if I am not able to sell within 6 months.
We are a family of PRs.

All agents will indicate that as long as you priced it right, you should be able to sell off the property within the 3 months, not to mention 6 months period, however, I think in an environment where there is a rising concern of the hike in interest rates, it will be in your best interest to allow us find out more about your current property as well as plans moving forward. In most situations, I will encourage to sell first instead of purchasing first, if not to do it concurrently.

It will be ideal to do both concurrently, and if you need your sales proceeds to complete the purchase, you will have to sell off the condo first before completing the purchase. Hi,

1) If the asking price of the property is within the market rate, the selling process will not extend more than 6 months.
2) However you have to be clear in order to purchase before selling. Your existing funds + loan must be equal to or more than the purchase price.
3) Note that you also must have the fund for the buyer stamp duty of ~3% + 5% ABSD if the purchase is not more than S$1 million dollars.
