I am considering to get a house lately and chanced upon this corner unit that wasn't too bad but the kitchen and one of the bedroom have a shape that looks abit odd.

Two of the bedrooms are fine, just one appears a bit slant. I wonder is it good to buy a house that have some odd shape or it is best to stay away from them?

99% of time, there is no perfect house or apartment for a buyer, and very likely that even if you do come across one that is perfect, you may find the price tag out of touch.

Instead of viewing it as odd shape, would it be more helpful to determine if this feature affects the functionality, furnishing placement and flow of the apartment? If it does not, I do not see any issue with such layouts. The usual concerns about odd shapes are not knowing what to do with the space and affecting the furnishing layout.

Hope the above helps.

Good morning,

In general, units that are relatively squarish are acceptable amount buyers. For some HDB unit where you might have triangular bedroom, hexagon shaped living hall or even diamond shaped kitchen, these are the units that will take more time to sell. As I did not see the unit with you, I'm unable to comment further.

Hi,

There must some reasons you are giving considering such as:
(a) Location is in your favour
(b) Floor level
(c) Amenities
(d) Public transportation
(e) The serene environment
(f) Units around here hard to comeby

The next factors you should be ponder on are:
(a) What can I do about the odd shape? Good reno idea can conceal or make good out of it.
(b) Do I have the budget to rectify it? Good reno idea will not come cheap.
(c) Will I encounter difficulties when wants to sell it?
(d) Will the current surrounding conditions change in near future?
(e) Would I have to lower my expectation & how far when decided to sell later?

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more queries, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.
