I am applying PR. I want to ask after I obtain PR, when can I purchase a HDB? I heard there is a rule I need to wait certain years before purchase second hand HDB.

If I am to purchase condo, what kind of tax I need to pay as a PR?

Hi,

For SPR households to purchase resale hdb, both SPRs must hold SPR status for at least 3 years and legally married.

Alternatively you can consider private condo, which you can purchase straight away. However, total stamp duties will be approx 8% (bsd+absd). Thanks and hope to assist further.

Good evening buyer,

You have to form a family nucleus in order to purchase a resale HDB, most probably with your spouse for your case.

May I know what's the residency status of your spouse?

If your spouse is Singaporean, in fact you can purchase one under non citizen spouse scheme. If he is SPR, both of you need to fulfill 3 years SPR status before you are eligible to purchase one.

If not, alternatively you can opt for private property.

For both cases, you will be liable for 5% additional buyer's stamp duty as SPR.

Hope my sharing is beneficial to your property purchase.

May I know how can I continue to value add further in this purchase?

Hi buyer,

You'd both need to have obtained SPR status for 3 years to purchase a HDB (that's for an SPR married couple); if it's an SC-SPR couple, there's no need for that.

ABSD for SPR is 5%, be it for HDB or Condo; SC-SPR married couple may apply for ABSD remission for their first matrimonial home.

Feel free to contact me at your convenience, and we can carry on from there.
