I am a SPR since 4 years. I have cash of 50k and CPF 110K. Planning to buy a resale HDB in Singapore. But I have a property overseas in joint name with my mother. I believe i need to clear my name from the overseas property? Can i do it after buying HDB? Will HDB keep track and verify if the overseas property is sold or not?

As single SPR, you are not eligible to purchase HDB unit.

Hi Jason, you can only purchase a resale hdb with your fiancé who is also a PR for at least 3 years or a local citizen. And after purchasing and collecting the keys, you have up to 6 months time to dispose of your overseas property.

if you are ok. buying into a private condo is better for you. if not continue to rent a unit in singapore. Read More
