I am a single who now owns a 5-room hdb flat bought from the resale market in 2008. My fiancee whom I am planning to marry owns a private apartment with her mum. If we are to get married, can we buy a HDB apartment without having to sell her private apartment since her mum needs to stay there in future and my fiancee is the only one paying for the private apartment? Her mum is a housewife and not working.

Evening Daniel,

Under the current ruling, if you and your fiancée were to purchase a HDB unit together, you are required to sell off your current HDB unit and she need to sell off her private apartment within 6 months from key collection. There no second way around it.
