Based on what you have shared, I would really need to know how much cash you have before I can properly advise you. Reason is because you mentioned the bank will loan you up to $380K but if we take a bank loan, then we will have to fork out 5% of the purchase price in cash. Assuming if we purchase a $500K property, then we will have to fork out $25K in cash minimum. So if we really want to save on the cash portion, then the alternative will be to apply for a HDB loan if we are purchasing a HDB.
