Hi Patrick,

In order for you to save big on buyer stamp duty under foreigner bracket, you have to accomplish the following before Nov20013:

1) Get your bank loan limit (Takes 3-7 working days)
2) Pick a private property within your budget and preference
3) Get a lawyer and sign Sale & Purchase Agreement (Takes 3-5 working days)

I would suggest you pick something from new launch because:

1) Direct price from Developer and spoilt with unit availability
2) Enjoy progressive payment scheme
3) Avoid all those price negotiations with resale market owners.
4) You can afford to wait for the building time since you mentioned that you will be based in overseas. Yet there are projects that will be ready in less than 1 years’ time if you are looking for earlier rental returns.
5) It will be brand new, be it for rental investment or future own stay.
