I am a Singapore and my fiancee is a E pass holder.
1. Are we able to use the Fiance scheme to buy house ?

2. If we buy resale flat, what is the payment plan and dates like ?

3. Are we eligible for any grants ?

4. Are we eligible for the sales of balance flat from BTO ?

Good afternoon Olivia,

you can purchase a HDB (resale/ BTO 2RM flat) under non citizen spouse scheme after both of you are legally married. In order to be eligible under fiance/ fiancee scheme, your fiance must be at least a SPR.

You are eligible for CPF housing grant which might differ depending on resale (Singles grant etc) or BTO purchase.

There will be two appointments for you to attend if you go for resale flats. Downpayments will differ depends on which type of loan (HDB or bank) you are taking and how much can you obtain.

Do take note that the loan assessment will be based on your income only cause your spouse is a foreigner.

You can purchase resale HDB unit under non-citizen spouse scheme. Depending on your income status, you can be eligible for single Grant and HDB loan. However, you are not eligible for BTO units.

Hi Olivia,

Let me help you with your questions:

1. Your purchase will be under Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme.

2. Payment will be up to maximum 80% loan, with 20% as downpayment, out of which 5% must be in CASH. Time from OTP till completion, estimated 4 months, depending on HDB availability dates.

3. You are only eligible for Half-Grant, as your spouse is not a Citizen.

4. You are only eligible for 2-room HDB flats in a non-matured estate direct from HDB, i.e BTO or Sales of Balance Flats.
