I am a joint tenency as second owner with my dad for a 5A HDB since 1991. I have contributed half of my installment using my CPF account and had fully paid. I wish to apply a new HDB with my wife and plan to withdraw my name from Joint tenancy. So can I consider myself as first timer? if I buy a HDB near my parent location, am I entitle for 40K grant? Thanks

Evening KP,

First timer are owners who purchased their unit directly from HDB or with Housing Grant.
Hence if your current unit is purchased with grant, that means you have enjoyed your first timer benefite.
If your current flat is purchased without grant, and you were to purchase a resale flat, near your parents, you will be entitled to grant, provided your combine income does not exceed the ceiling preset by HDB.
