I am 62 years old and looking to sell my HDB and purchase another. I have pledged my current property to my RA. Understand that after selling i have to top up my RA to the FRS. Can i repledge my next HDB purchase and then subsequently withdraw cash from my RA? i do not want to leave so much cash in my RA

Good morning,

Yes its possible as long as the next property is able to last you until 95 years old and you pledge the property again so to meet half of the FRS amount of your cohort. If you turn 55 in 2016, your FRS should be $161k, half of this amount must be set aside in your RA, while the other half can be met by your next property pledge. The excess can be withdrawn.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

Yes it is possible to repledge your HDB to fulfill your RA. If you wish to minimise the amount in your RA, we can appeal to CPF board to use as much CPF funds as possible. For my senior clients, I would usually accompany them to CPF board to verify the figures and also appeal if necessary.
