Whether resale or direct from HDB, there are schemes for prospective home buyers to meet in order to be eligible to purchase. The next consideration will then be the finances, whether a home loan is required be it from bank or HDB and if yes, does the income and age meet the criteria for home loan to be granted. You have mentioned that you have about $50k in your OA account but did not mention about the cash component you have for the purchase. If you are planning for a bank loan, you will be required to put up at least 5% of the purchase price or valuation as welll as any Cash Over Valuation for the purchase, with remaining 20% in CPF and/or cash, if you are eligible for maximum 75% loan.
Do check out on the finances first before embarking on a home search to avoid any mistakes when committing to a unit for purchase.
