I am 28 years old, working and contributing to CPF. Mom passed away, so left me, my dad and 2 sister. My elder sister married already have BTO, so my younger sis, staying with elder sis. Me and dad currently staying at the 4 room partment, is it ok for me to buy a resale and downgrade?

You can jointly purchase a HDB flat together with your Father, under Public Scheme. Do take note that the current 4RM flat will have to be sold latest within 6 months upon your next HDB flat purchase.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the news of the loss of your loved one, I hope you are managing well.

You would have to jointly purchase the next resale HDB with your father to form the family nucleus, as this is one of the eligibility conditions required for resale HDB. He would then also have to sell off the 4-room HDB, within 6 months of the key collection to the resale HDB.

you will be eligible to purchase a resale HDB with your dad if HDB eligibility condition is met.

Just wondering is existing HDB under your dad's sole name?

If finances for sale works out, he might be eligible to buy a 3rm without your inclusion.

Yes, you can downgrade to a 3rm flat. But, resale units are quite expensive. Suggest, if it is possible to buy a BTO from HDB direct. This way, you save loads of monies for your family. Do contact me so that I can explore the best option for your family.
