I have heard of people trying to appeal for such cases, but not very successful

Hi Landon, thank you for your answer.
Do you know if there are any successful cases that HDB approved the appeal of such case?
Spouse Owning Private Property and HDB Purchase:

Unfortunately, due to HDB regulations, your spouse owning private property creates a hurdle for your HDB flat purchase. There are two main options:

Sell Private Property: Sell the existing private property and wait for the 30-month MOP (Minimum Occupation Period) to be eligible for a BTO application.

Appeal (Uncertain Success): You can consider appealing to HDB for an exemption from the 30-month waiting period. However, successful appeals in such cases are not very common.

Recommendations:

Contact HDB Directly: Reach out to HDB to discuss your specific situation. They can provide the most accurate information on eligibility and potential exemptions.
Gather Supporting Documents: If you decide to appeal, be prepared to submit any relevant documents supporting your case for an exemption. This could include proof of financial hardship, compelling reasons for needing an HDB flat sooner, etc.
Explore Alternative Options: Consider alternative options like resale flats (although they might be pricier than BTO flats) or waiting until the 30-month period is over.

Hi Able, thanks for the advice.
If my wife does not want to sell off her residence unit overseas, we also cannot get approval to buy resale HDB unit, still have to go through the appeal process.
Now we only consider HDB unit as the private property in Singapore is too expensive and out of our budget.
