Hi, would like to know if my current HDB flat is fully paid and have met the MOP, can i buy a private property with another person who doesn't have any property in singapore via tenancy in common? i.e. i own 1% and the other person own 99%?

Good afternoon investor,

You can do so but do take note that you will be subject to additional buyer's stamp duty of 7% on the residential property as a Singaporean
even though you own 1%. Higher of the ABSD applicable.

Afternoon,

Since you have fulfilled MOP, you are eligible to purchase your second property while keeping your HDB unit, provided that you are SC. ABSD is payable depending on the citizenship status of your friend, regardless of percentage of holding on the upcoming purchase.

Its possible, assuming the other person is SC, please note 7% ABSD applies with a joint purchase under tenancy in common, since its your 2nd property.
