Hi, would like to check on the inspection to be done before completion date (as mentioned in the HDB letter). Our completion date is mid Oct and we give 3 months extension. Our lawyer strongly advised us to do final inspection before the completion date but I am not sure what we need to inspect. Our agent is not encouraging us to do this inspection and said that we are covered under the letter of indemnity from seller that we signed when we agreed for 3-month extension and that we only need to do final inspection when this extension is over. Is it true that we dont need to do inspection before completion date if we give extension ? If we want to do the inspection, what do we need to check?

Hi,

Actually for the final inspection, we inspect to see if the sellers have already vacated the house and the house can be handed over. That is why we usually do the final inspection 1-2 days before the completion day. So if we already offered extension stay to the sellers, then there really isn’t a need to check.

Temporary Extension of Stay:
