Hi Shane,

Usually we advise to sell first before buying as most clients needed the funds to purchase their new unit. If you have enough funds, you can opt to buy first.

Procedures include finding out whether your current sale will have any proceeds to enable you to purchase a new unit. If not you have to think twice before selling.

The timing of selling and buying is important too, so you will not be 'homeless' during the transition.

If you are planning to take another HDB loan, you may have to upgrade.

The timeframe currently is around 17-20 weeks for a HDB transaction, may be more depending on case by case basis.
