For most instances there can be one borrower if there are 2 owners.

Yes, you can use one name to buy a private apartment and is less of an hassle too. But, you got to buy the right one. Otherwise, in the future, the appreciation will be affected.

Hi,

1) In order to utilize your CPF you have to be one of the owners.
2) The housing loan can be under a single borrower. This is not an issue.
3) Conclusion is you and your wife must be the owner of the new purchase but your wife will be the sole person apply for the mortgage loan.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

Yes there are no issues with selling your HDB. However getting a bank loan may be challenging because most banks are only willing to lend you after 3 years. Getting a loan to purchase another HDB will be easier. Alternatively, if your wife income alone is sufficient to support the purchase without the need for your CPF, then she can just purchase under her name.

Hi,

You can sell away your HDB no issues. But getting a private property may be challenging as your status has just been updated. If your wife's income and age status is sufficient to qualify for the loan you need, she can just purchase the condo under her own name no issue.

There is no problem for you to sell off your HDB flat. However, there may be some issues if you were to purchase a condo with your wife as a co-owner. Most banks will not be able to grant you a loan due to your current status.

If your Wife's income is able to secure a loan for the purchase, I would advise you to just use her name to purchase the condo.
