Hi there

I am a Singaporean living and working overseas, and my partner (non-Singaporean) and I are thinking about purchasing a place in Singapore. We own a place overseas.

Questions:

1. I understand that we are only able to purchase private property - is that right?

2. What kind of loans are we subject to? Because we are earning income overseas, do we engage a local (Singaporean) bank, or do we use our overseas bank?

3. What is the average borrowing capacity in Singapore?

Hi Mdm Kuan;

Yes,you are right,if you own a property overseas,you are not eligible to purchase a HDB according to the new ruling.You will need to get local bank loan,max of 70% of the purchase price only if you are a foreigner not working in Singapore(subjected to approval by banks).I have a few new projects that are very good for investment..
