Hi,

1) You should be able to see the available loan amount you could get from the HDB, as well as the grants from the HFE.
2) You add in the funds in your OA and cash saving, you will be able to find out the estimated budget.
3) On top of the above general information, you also have to find out the amount of cash needed other than loan, CPF funds, and grants.
4) You will need to include the buyer stamp duty, legal fees, caveat, microfilm, valuation, resale application, etc.
5) The cheapest legal fees available in the market is from HDB.

You’ll need to check your HDB Loan Eligibility (HLE) and/or bank loan approval first.

Given that your HFE is done, the next steps are:
1. Calculate CPF usage: Check how much is available in your CPF OA for downpayment and monthly mortgage.
2. Estimate cash needed: Depending on the resale flat price and your CPF OA, determine how much cash you need for the downpayment, stamp duties, and other fees.
3. Loan eligibility: Apply for HDB or bank loan in principle to see the maximum loan amount you can get. This tells you if the 3-room resale flat is affordable.
4. Budget for renovation/furniture: Don’t forget additional costs like renovation and furnishing.
