Hi my wife and i were both working at point of application (Feb 2022). My key collection is end of 2024 (this year). I took 2 years no-pay-leave until Sep 2025. During second income assessment by hdb, only my wife's income will be considered for the HDB loan application. We have already paid 5% dp using CPF. How much do i have to pay during key collection? also considering the amount we can borrow for HDB loan is reduced, how does it affect how much we need to pay during key collection?

Hi, assuming that the loan amount is reduced, it depends on how much loan you are able to get, as well as the grant amount you get, but it is basically the balance of what is not covered by the loan.

Assuming loan amount is reduced at your 2nd assessment, the shortfall amount due to the reduced loan will need to be paid for in cash and/or CPF, and this shortfall has to be paid upon completion of your purchase. Read More

1. **Loan Amount Impact**: If the loan amount is decreased, the total you can borrow will depend on the reduced loan and any grants received.

2. **Remaining Balance**: The shortfall will be the difference not covered by the loan.

3. **Payment of Shortfall**: If the loan amount is lower during your second assessment, you will need to cover the shortfall with cash and/or CPF.

4. **Payment Timing**: This shortfall must be settled upon completion of your property purchase.
