Hi. My husband and I will be completing our 3rd yr PR early next year. We would like to secure a place within a month or two after completion of our 3rd yr PR. Please advise when to start looking around.

Morning,

Do you mean by moving into the unit or signing the documents for the unit of your choice when you mention the term of securing a place? To sign the OTP for your choice unit, it would be highly possible, depending on your purchase requirement. But to move into a unit within two months, it's impossible as entire HDB S&P process will need at least 14 to 16 weeks.

    Hi Mike, to sign the OTP, we need to complete the 3rd Yr PR. It applies to both husband and wife? If my husband completed his 3rd yr PR few months earlier than me( around 2 mths earlier), is it possible we proceed with the OTP? or we just have to wait until I am eligible? Good afternoon, you can start house hunting 2 to 4 weeks before your fulfillment of 3 years SPR status as both of you are only able to sign on OTP after that.

Good evening,

Both of you have to fulfill SPR status of 3 years before you sign any legal document. Thus you have to wait till you are eligible. Hope it helps!
