Hi,
Me and my wife(both SPR, age below 35) planning to buy resale Hdb on next year. Hence, would need help to clarify on below few questions:

1) both of us currently owing private properties in Malaysia. Due to the 15 month period thingy, so wanted to check if can transfer the ownership to parents instead of sell it? If transfer ownership of properties, does it apply to both sales & purchase agreement and bank loan agreement or S&P will do?

2) should I started to looking for resale unit now as my wife 3 years SPR period will only complete at Q4 2024

3) is it worth to buy resale hdb at higher price? Currently budget set at $900k because prefer town area/near mrt/newly MOP unit

Hi,

1) Yes, you may transfer the ownership to your parents instead of selling.
2) Why people are using the term; transfer instead of selling is because transfer consists of selling a whole unit, selling of part-share, or, dispose it under a gift, etc.
3) The most common I've seen so far was selling.
4) I'm not well versed in the Malaysia conveyance process. You will have to check with the local agent or a lawyer.
5) You will have to observe a 15-month wait-out period upon completion of getting rid of your overseas property before reaching the 3-yrs wait-out period of SPR status.
6) So that you can offer for an OTP once you reached the 3-yrs wait-out period.
7) Curren HDB flat price has stabilized so it is not of a higher price.
8) However, it is a necessity to assess your financial status in order to provide an objective opinion on whether a resale private/EC or an HDB flat is an ideal choice.
