Hi. Me and my wife already bought a resale flat when we first got married and is currently residing here. If my resale is already fully paid for, is it possible if i remove her name as the owner and put it as an occupier in the current resale hdb, and get her to apply a new bto as the owner and my name as an occupier?

Hi Sir,

I regret to inform you that this is not possible. You are not able to remove her name as the co-owner for HDB flat. This is only applicable for private, and we call this Decoupling.

If you were to apply for a BTO flat, you will be treated as a "second-timer" if you had taken CPF Housing Grant when you first purchased your current flat. If you had not taken the Grant, you will be deemed as "first-timer" applicant.

You are able to apply the BTO under Owner-Occupier. Do take note that should you be successful in your BTO balloting, you will be required to sell off your current flat latest within 6 months upon the BTO key collection. Both the Owner and the Occupier will also need to fulfill a fresh 5-year MOP for the BTO flat.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi,

1) If your objective is to own 2 HDB flats by you and your wife, this is not possible.
2) You are not allowed to own 1 HDB and be an occupier of another flat, likewise for your wife.
3) Your wife can apply for a BTO even as an owner of the current flat, but you will have to sell your current HDB within 6 months upon key collection for the BTO.
4) Therefore, in the end, you will be left with 1 BTO flat.

Hope the above answer your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.
